USA Women’s Performance in the Lima Pan-American Open

USA’s women’s team did not fare as well as the men, with the best performer being Emily Daniela Jaspe who got a silver medal.

In the -48kg division, Anat Tsyrlin fought for bronze but lost to Flor Zambrano (PER).

In the -52kg division, Toni Pepia fought for bronze but lost to Brillith Gamarra (PER). The other American in this weight class, Devin Amtmann also lost to Gamarra, but in the first round.

The USA had no player in the -57kg division.

In the -63kg division, Emily Daniela Jaspe fought in the final but lost to Ketelyn Nascimento (BRA) to earn herself a silver medal.

In the -70kg division, Yasmin Alamin and Melissa Myers both made it to the semifinal but both lost their matches. Both also lost their bronze medal matches.

The USA had no player in the -78kg division.

In the +78kg division, it was a Round-Robin system and Gusmary Garcia Savigne lost both her matches, to Fernanda Quimbria (ANG) and Katia Alves (BRA).
