The final was an all-Uzbek affair and, as to be expected, a battle of pick-ups. Both Umar Bozorov and Nurbek Murtozoev were locked in but it was Bozorov who prevailed with a front uchimata done from a Khabarelli-style grip. A rather unusual hybrid technique.
-78kg: Olek (GER)
The final was a fierce battle between World No. 1 Anna Monta Olek (GER) and Yelyzaveta Lytvynnko (UAE). Olek won with a kosoto-gake that scored waza-ari.
-100kg: Sulamanidze (GEO)
Ilia Sulamanidze (GEO) had fought brilliantly all day but he had some trouble in the final with Simeon Catharina (NED) who proved to be quite difficult to throw. In the end, a footsweep for yuko won Sulamanidze the match.
+78kg: Fontaine (FRA)
The final was an all-French affair between Lea Fontaine and Romane Dicko. Dicko had fought and defeated Fontaine four times in the past. But this time, it was Fontaine who triumphed, with a harai-makikomi for waza-ari followed immediately by a hold-down for waza-ari-awasete-ippon.
+100kg: Tasoev (RUS)
Martti Puumalainen (FIN) had done well getting to the final, defeating some really tough competitors along the way, but Inal Tasoev (RUS) proved to be a bridge too far. He gave Tasoev a good fight, dragging him into Golden Score but when he tried to do a sacrifice technique Tasoev countered him with an opportunistic kosoto-gake which scored ippon.
