2026 Kazakhstan GS: Day 1

2026 Kazakhstan GS: Day 1

-48kg: Gersjes (NED)
Amber Gersjes got her first ever IJF World Tour gold medal by defeating Narantsetseg Ganbaatar (MGL) using a de-ashi-barai which scored yuko.

-60kg: Byambasuren (MGL)
Sukhbat Byambasuren first scored a yuko through an uchimata against a kosoto-gake attack by local hero Talgat Orynbassar (KAZ). Then he scored ippon with a bear-hug kosoto-gake. This was not the result the home crowd was hoping for but it was a good win.

-52kg: Pont (FRA)
Blandine Pont threw Khorloodoi Bishrelt (UAE) with osoto-gari for  yuko just as Bishrelt was coming up from the ground.

-66kg: Nutfulloev (UZB)
Abdurakhim Nutfulloev threw Saigid Kerimov (RUS) with a very unorthodox kata-guruma. It only scored yuko but that was enough to win him the match.

-57kg: Mokdar (FRA)
This category was an all-French affair, with Faiza Mokdar defeating teammate Chloe Devictor. First, Mokdar threw Devictor with a drop morote-seoi-nage for yuko. After that she turned her over for an osaekomi for ippon.
