2026 Dushanbe GS: Day 2

-63kg: Bold (MGL)
When two players from the same country face each other, sometimes it leads to a stalemate because they know each other too well. This was certainly the case with Gankhaich Bold and Enkhrillen Lkhagvatogoo (MGL). In the end, Bold won by penalties in Golden Score.

-73kg Asadulloev (TJK)
The home crowd erupted with cheers when Muhiddin Asadulloev countered Karen Galstian’s (RUS) uchimata and landed him flat on his back for ippon.

-70kg: Kowalewska (POL)
Aleksandra Kowalewska won her first ever IJF World Tour gold medal (in fact, first-ever IJF medal of any color) by defeating Michaela Pollores (AUT) with a sharp kouchi-gari for waza-ari in Golden Score.

-81kg: Makhmadbekov (TJK)
The home crowd had a second reason to cheer, with Somon Makhmadbekov’s win against Bernd Fasching (AUT). Makhmadbekov threw Fasching with osoto-gari for yuko very early on and managed to maintain his lead until the end of regular time. It wasn’t an ippon victory but the crowd was delighted anyway.
